The Surrey House was built in 1881 and is Harrison's oldest historic landmark. Many famous individuals have dined here including governors, politicians, and television personalities. It was originally established as a boarding house and restaurant in the logging era. Rumor has it that during the late 1800's, the third floor was used by "ladies of the evening". The building has a colorful history, as they say "if only walls could talk".
This wonderful restaurant has had many owners in its long life. The current owners are Brook & Kim Wood, life-long Harrison residents. The Wood family is working hard to give the Surry House a new life with well-needed renovations, new menu selections, and pleasant surroundings. We've added outside dining for our customers to enjoy our wonderful Michigan summers.
